Portrait of Dominique, our Mamido!

Twenty-three years of career, unrivaled knowledge of the establishment, and true friendship with customers – this is what characterizes Dominique, better known as “Mamido,” at the hotel “La Clé des Champs” in Montmélian. His career within the establishment is a true epic, marked by transformations major and unfailing devotion.

Since his arrival, Dominique has been the privileged witness of all the developments of the hotel, renovations successive to the introduction of theIT, which didn't even exist when it started. She also witnessed the change of ownership, a pivotal moment in the establishment's history. In 2006,, Mr. Lorin, the current owner, took the reins of “La Clé des Champs,” resulting in total overhaul of the hotel and restaurant. Today, these two establishments offer superior quality services compared to when Dominique started.

Dominique occupied various positions within the establishment, passing with ease from the Responsibility Law from the restaurant to that of receptionist, then to that ofExecutive Assistant. His retirement could have marked the end of a exceptional career on December 31, 2016, but from 1st January 2017, she was back among us. She generously agreed to continue collaborate with us and we tried as best we could to reduce his working time, because the goal was to train new recruits and that it is only present when needed during busy periods. But one nugget such as Dominique is difficult to find. It therefore remains present, for our benefit great happiness and that of our customers, who always ask us for their news when she is absent.

Over the years, Dominique has woven bonds of affection and friendship with many customers. She saw their children grow up, get married, and shared with them the joys and sorrows that life has in store. Within the team, there is no doubt: Dominique is our Mamido, she takes care of us, and we take care of her.

In conclusion, the word “retirement” is not part of the vocabulary by Dominic. For her, work is synonymous with health, social connection, place of exchange and conviviality. His invaluable contribution reminds us of the importance of transmission of knowledge to future generations. We have so much to learn from our elders, and Dominique embodies perfectly this idea.
